Senior Structural Engineer - Forensic Engineering + Structural Investigation
Job Description : As a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in Forensic Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in our client's organization.
You will be responsible for leading complex forensic investigations, conducting detailed structural analyses, and providing expert consultation on a wide range of projects.
Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing structural failures, assessing damage, and developing innovative solutions for repair, retrofit, and rehabilitation of existing structures.
This position requires a deep understanding of structural engineering principles, advanced analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence in project management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and conduct comprehensive forensic investigations to determine the causes of structural failures and damages.
- Perform non-destructive evaluations and instrumentation to assess the condition of structures.
- Conduct seismic and structural analyses to design effective repair, retrofit, and rehabilitation solutions.
- Evaluate the structural integrity of parking garage structures and other critical infrastructure.
- Provide specialty consulting services for new systems and materials, from design through construction.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications :
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the State of California.
- Master’s degree in civil / structural engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of fifteen years of relevant structural engineering industry experience, including technical and project management.
- Proven expertise in failure / damage investigation, non-destructive evaluation, and instrumentation.
- Extensive experience in seismic / structural analysis and design for repair, retrofit, and rehabilitation of existing structures.
- Proficiency in evaluating parking garage structures and providing specialty consulting for new systems and materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
