Responsibilities : Position Summary :

Position Summary :

The DOU / Stepdown registered nurse provides direct patient care, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Definitive Observation unit.

The registered nurse is supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains plan of care for the vulnerable patients.

Required Qualifications :

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Current American Heart Association BLS. ACLS certification and Initial Dysrhythmia Recognition within 90 days of hire.
• One year experience in a critical care setting

Preferred Qualifications :

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
