Schedule : Monday - Friday 9 am to 5 pm (Hybrid remote / in-person schedule)

The Assistant Director of HR Operations and HRIS is responsible for the overall HR Operations team's day-to-day functioning and is a high-level technical support for the HRIS.

This position is responsible for data auditing and integrity, running system reports as well as maintaining troubleshooting, and testing new features and enhancements of the HRIS.

The Assistant Director of HR Operations and HRIS supervises and coordinates the activities of the HR Operations Coordinators to ensure the quality and timeliness of daily work and project completion.

Works collaboratively with other members of the HR team and other administrative departments (including Payroll and IT) to resolve HR data issues.

The Assistant Director and HR Operations and HRIS has a range of duties including :

  • Directs the HR Operations team's handling of the onboarding process in its entire cycle and continually looks for efficiencies and service enhancements in the onboarding process.
  • Directs and manages the staff of HR Coordinators. This includes hiring, directing, coaching, evaluating, and career development.

Trains, delegates, and mentors the HR Coordinators to effectively handle the day-to-day functions of the operational unit as well as ongoing administrative projects.

  • Functions as the primary liaison for HR-related HRIS issues. Maintains the integrity of HRIS database, including regular data audits, keeping up with product enhancements, vendor tickets, upgrades and bug fixes.
  • Configuration of HRIS as needed, working within the framework built to produce updates as needed and solve technical issues including creating new Job Codes and Work Orders, including maintaining and finalizing JDs.
  • Ensures all employee life cycle changes are systematically processed in the HRIS by monitoring, and assisting end users and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Oversees routine internal audits to ensure accurate data processing as well as strict adherence to data deadlines.
  • Acts as consultant and advisor to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding human resources issues pertaining to HR Operations and the HRIS system.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field required. In some instances, experience may be substituted for academic training.
  • Minimum of five years experience in Human Resources Administration with a focus on data and systems; minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to supervise and provide leadership and mentorship
  • Knowledge of HR Operations functions and ability to collaborate with the entire HR team
  • Advanced knowledge and HRIS software (UKG or a similar system)
  • Employee processing procedures including employee changes, CORIs, driver's checks, and I-9 documentation
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in dealing with individuals and confidential matters
  • Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, planning, organizing, and project coordination / management
  • Demonstrated success in complex multi-tasking work environment
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference check, and employment verification background check.
