Senior Financial Analyst - Lease Accounting

The client is seeking a Financial Analyst with expertise in lease accounting and strong process improvement skills to support their growing cloud lease operations.

Summary :

The client is looking for a Financial Analyst to provide technical lease accounting support, particularly with ASC 842. The candidate will play a key role in supporting cloud lease operations, managing manual processes, and working toward transitioning workflows into a more scalable solution.

The ideal candidate will have experience in SAP, process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to handle the challenges of a hyper-growth environment.

Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities :

Lease Accounting Support :

Provide accounting support for cloud leases, particularly with the ASC 842 lease accounting standard.

The role involves managing a large growth in lease volume (projected growth of 20x-100x), requiring expertise in waterfall calculations and SEC disclosures.

Process Improvement :

Analyze and optimize existing operational processes related to :

Lease assessment

Manual journal entries

Account reconciliations

Waterfall calculations

SEC disclosures

Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for enhancing lease processes and improving efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

Collaborate with various teams, including accounting, finance, business, and the TI-lease teams, to implement process improvements.

Partner with the lease team to intake workflows into an existing vendor arrangement, managing leases at scale (expected to take 9+ months).

Documentation & Communication :

Create detailed and clear documentation for the end-to-end lease process, including controls and improvements.

Communicate accounting and operational issues effectively and in a timely manner to various stakeholders.

General Requirements :

Technical Expertise :

Strong understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting.

Ability to research and resolve accounting issues related to leases.

SAP Experience :

Experience with SAP and the manual journal entry process to support month-end close tasks.

Hyper-Growth Environment :

Experience working in a hyper-growth environment, with the flexibility and adaptability to handle rapid changes.

A strong focus on optimization and process improvement in a complex and rapidly growing environment.

Detail-Oriented and Analytical :

Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

A self-starter, motivated to build new processes and improve existing ones.
