The Employee Experience department is responsible for fostering an intentional focus on people and ensuring the work experience of all employees is consistent with Outdoor Cap’s culture, mission, and values.
Employee Experience team members execute strategic company-wide events, develop and present initial onboarding and ongoing training materials which promote the intended work culture, and champion Outdoor Cap’s commitment to a positive work experience for all employees.
They model, promote, and equip colleagues toward a collaborative, strengths-based approach to solving workplace challenges and serving customers.
The Project Manager is responsible for developing and guiding employee experience projects from ideation through to completion.
The project manager helps ensure that all Employee Experience initiatives are expertly managed and executed with a high degree of organization, professionalism, and regard for the company culture in which all individuals are valued and appreciated.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- In conjunction with other members of the Employee Experience Team manages the development and execution of employee experience initiatives including employee recognition, connection, training, and development.
- Evaluates the employee experience and seeks opportunities to enrich it wherever possible.
- Facilitates the Summer College Intern program.
- Leads the planning, preparation, and execution of company-wide events throughout the year.
- Develops & executes purchasing plans consistent with established events budgets.
- Facilitates event preparation and the recruiting / empowering of volunteers for companywide events.
- Keeps detailed notes and documentation relating to event preparation and execution for evaluation and learnings for future events.
- Manages various employee recognition / appreciation opportunities to ensure availability and equitable use.
- Supports other Employee Experience team roles in the developing of ongoing training & development materials to align with current processes and identified best practices.
- Collaborates with other members of the Employee Experience Department to both build and facilitate employee onboarding and initial training plans.
- Facilitates training & development sessions in appropriate areas of expertise.
- Ensures the documentation and upkeep of operational processes in areas of oversight.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution OR equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of employee development, creating training content, and / or event / organizational leadership.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner and PowerPoint, preferred.
Physical / Mental Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend, and move inside the office to access files and product.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear, professional manner.
- Ability to move 10-20 lbs occasionally throughout day.
