For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services.
The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery.
It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County.
In addition the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St.

The incumbent is responsible for specimen procurement and dispatch. The incumbent is also responsible for department support in processing and microbiology.
The incumbent may be assigned other relevant duties in support of the Laboratory.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
One year of acute care experience as a Phlebotomist may consider candidates with less experience if no qualified applicants apply.
Completion of CA state approved phlebotomy license program.
Must have a current CPT1 License.
AHA BLS certification.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Typing organizational skills knowledge of computers ability to accurately enter data follow policy and procedure ability to remain calm and function efficiently during difficult or emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications :
AA Degree in related field.
