Job Title : Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Senior Accountant with over 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in the construction industry.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the full cycle of accounting, with a particular focus on accounts receivable (AR), Job Cost and be comfortable working in a flexible smaller environment.

The candidate must be self-driven, personable, and an effective communicator, as this role involves direct interaction with project managers, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities :

  • Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • General Ledger Management : Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, reviewing entries for accuracy and consistency.
  • Month-end Close : Lead month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Financial Analysis : Conduct detailed financial analysis, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads to align financial goals with strategic objectives.
  • Audit and Compliance : Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, provide documentation and support, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and systems, develop and implement solutions to streamline operations, enhance controls, and improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership : Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth and development.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
