Part-time Store Associate
The Dallas Symphony Association offers an exciting opportunity to assist in the Dallas Symphony Store on a part-time basis.
The Symphony Store is open before, during and after Dallas Symphony concerts, generally Thursday to Sunday from September to May.
Duties include (but are not limited to) :
- Assist the Store Manager in the operation and sales at the store level and oversee the store when the Manager is not scheduled
- Greet and assist patrons in a friendly manner
- Keep the stock and storage room organized
- Coordinate and instruct volunteers
- Maintain a well-organized, clean and well-stocked sales floor
- Process register transactions in a friendly and accurate manner
- Perform opening and closing duties (reconcile register sales, cash, run reports, file invoices)
- Process incoming stock from delivery to sales floor
- Process incoming / outgoing wholesale DVD orders
- Remerchandise store, and assist with merchandise displays when necessary
- Assist with annual inventories

The ideal candidate will possess :
- A minimum of 2 years of high-end retail sales / customer service experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A willingness to learn about products
- Ability to learn and master inventory and office software program
- Ability to serve customers with a high level of customer service
- Must be available to work all concerts during the Symphony concert season
- Ability to work approximately 15-20 hours per week, 2-4 days a week, during the Symphony concert season
- Availability Thursday through Saturday from 5 : 00pm-10 : 30pm and Sundays from 1 : 00pm-6 : 30pm in addition to some flexible daytime hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Classical music background preferred but not required.
