Who We Are

We're a team of entrepreneurial-minded individuals, passionate fans, and technologists building something new - with sports fans and streamers at the center.

Venu Sports is a forthcoming sports streaming service being built for sports fans that brings together live content from all the major professional sports leagues and top college conferences, in addition to on demand content from leading sports networks, including ESPN, FOX Sports and TNT Sports.*

Venu Sports will be made available directly to consumers via a new app. Subscribers will also have the ability to bundle the product, including with Disney+, Hulu or Max.

The future service will be built through a joint venture established by ESPN, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, FOX and Warner Bros.

Discovery. Venu Sports will license each of those companies’ existing sports channels, providing sports fans an extensive, dynamic lineup of sports content that will cater to sports fans currently outside the pay tv ecosystem.

We aspire for Venu Sports to become a one-stop destination for sports fans to easily discover, watch, and engage with their favorite leagues, teams, and players.

Job Overview :

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic team building a live streaming service for the modern sports fans.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the product strategy, roadmap, and execution to deliver an innovative sports experience for our audience.

You will guide cross-functional teams, manage the design workflow and provide guidance to implementation, ensuring our users enjoy an exceptional digital sports experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Product Strategy & Leadership :

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the business objectives, focusing on enhancing user engagement, subscriber retention, growth and innovation.
  • Define and manage product initiatives with clear prioritized features and improvements that drive meaningful results, with a focus on disrupting the sports streaming space.
  • Lead collaboration between design, engineering, marketing, content, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of product initiatives.

Product Design & Implementation :

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of new features, from ideation through to launch, iteration, and performance analysis, ensuring each feature aligns with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across multiple teams to help execute innovative features, providing extensive requirements and product guidance.
  • Work with engineering and design teams to ensure optimal playback quality, content discoverability, and seamless navigation.

Innovation :

Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive offerings in the streaming and sports spaces, driving innovation to differentiate the product in a crowded market.

Spearhead initiatives and ideate, scope and execute innovative experiences that enhance the sports fan experience.

Define and own the short and long-term vision for AI capabilities and cutting edge tech, turning vision into an executable product roadmap along with our emerging tech team.

Research & Analytics :

Identity gaps, tipping points, cohorts and define key KPIs using data to assess the performance of features and product initiatives.

Continuously monitor analytics to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement while building an insights library to be shared across teams.

Define and establish baseline metrics and assumptions to formulate, provide and disprove hypotheses to drive product growth.

Customer Insights & Personalization :

Conduct in-depth user studies, gather user feedback, and market trends to deeply understand customer needs and preferences.

Advocate for users, ensuring that product decisions are fan first and are focused on enhancing the sports streamer experience.

  • Oversee personalization efforts around content recommendation, search optimization and platform discovery.
  • Partner with the product merchandising team to identify gaps and opportunities around content discovery and ways to promote a complex and dynamic sports calendar while ensuring a best in class experience for sports fans.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in a leadership role, preferably with a digital sports organization, demonstrating expertise in digital product UX / UI and product development.
  • Experience within a streaming environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, business, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to
  • problem-solving.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, user research and product analytics.
  • Proven track record of taking products from inception to launch, with an emphasis on driving AI and innovation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Accustomed to working in a cross functional team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to work closely with data scientists, engineers, and data teams.
  • Experience with the end-to-end ML lifecycle, including model building, deployment, and optimization is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

This is a contract role in Los Angeles, CA with a hybrid work schedule. The hourly rate for qualified candidates is $85-$120 hourly.
