What's your day like?
As a Part-Time Imaging Rad Tech at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality imaging services while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Your responsibilities will include expertly positioning patients for each radiographic exam, adhering to established protocols from Radiologists and Specialty Physicians, and demonstrating competence in routine radiographic procedures. You will select and calculate the appropriate technical factors to produce diagnostic images that meet department guidelines. Proficiency in additional radiology areas such as CT, is also expected.
In addition to quality imaging, you will be involved in patient care, including obtaining medical histories and performing IV starts. You will manage patient scheduling and data storage while reporting exam results via the PACS system. Furthermore, your commitment to personal safety and professional development is vital, as you maintain BLS certification and seek ongoing education to uphold your ARRT credentials.
What we're looking for in a Imaging Rad Tech CT, Mammo
To thrive as a Part-Time Imaging Rad Tech at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics, candidates must possess a blend of technical proficiency and interpersonal skills. A minimum of two years of formal training from an accredited radiologic technologist program is essential, along with successful completion of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per AHA standards is mandatory, and staying abreast of continuing education requirements set by the ARRT and the Iowa Department of Public Health is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate clinical knowledge to competently execute radiologic procedures and must exhibit strong customer service abilities, encompassing effective telephone, written, and verbal communication. A high degree of empathetic understanding, tact, and kindness toward patients is vital, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Additionally, critical thinking skills are necessary for problem-solving and ensuring optimal patient care throughout the imaging process.
