Job Description
Analyzes, repairs, troubleshoots, makes repairs and resolves technical problems on equipment or components returned from customers as expeditiously and economically as possible.
- Performs the in-house repair of warranty and non-warranty electronic and / or hydro-mechanical items / products returned from the field to provide a fully functional unit that meets quality standards and applicable specifications for exchange stock or return to customer.
- Tests and calibrates all repaired items as required to ensure original design specifications are met.
- Provides customers with quotes of time and material for repairs using established guidelines for pricing.
- Monitors schedules to ensure accurate and expeditious returns to customers.
- Evaluates failed units to ensure cost effectiveness of repair versus replacing defective components.
- Completes repair records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provides support to the training department for training Field Service staff when special expertise is required.
- Provides technical support to customers, Field Service Engineers and technical support staff as required to resolve customer problems.
- Provides feedback, including design changes, to engineering for continued quality improvement on products.
- Design modifications to modules to compensate for component changes or availability of obsolete components when engineering support has ended.
- Design and build test fixtures to effectively repair and test products arriving in the facility. May require configuration of several system components and coordination with other facilities, equipment and resources.
- Performs other duties as apparent.
Qualifications
- AA degree or 2 year related vocational certification or equivalent military training
- 3 years of related experience
