Project Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. The Project Engineer will support project managers and superintendents in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects.
This role involves a combination of field and office work, providing hands-on involvement in all project phases from planning through completion.
Project Engineer Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones.
- Coordinate project activities and ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
- Prepare and review project submittals, including shop drawings, material certifications, and technical documents.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues or delays; propose solutions and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct field inspections and quality control assessments to ensure workmanship meets project standards and specifications.
- Assist in managing project budgets, costs, and expenditures; track and report project financial status.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily logs, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate project success.
Project Engineer Position Requirements
- Highly motivated with an overwhelming desire to learn and advance your career as an employee-owner.
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or 4 years equivalent construction experience.
Project Engineer Preferred Requirements
- Heavy Civil and / or Industrial Construction
- Read and understand project documents, including plans, specifications, special provisions, etc.
- Experience with Heavy Job system is a plus.
