Position Summary : As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in keeping our production equipment running at peak performance.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of machinery, including high-speed packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machines.

Your expertise will ensure that our production processes run smoothly, minimizing downtime and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production machinery.
  • Repair and replace defective parts, using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks, in the maintenance management system.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper operation and integration with existing systems.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with high-speed packaging equipment, conveyors, mixers, ovens, and other food processing machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in a hot, cold, or noisy environment as required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
