Position Summary : As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in keeping our production equipment running at peak performance.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of machinery, including high-speed packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machines.
Your expertise will ensure that our production processes run smoothly, minimizing downtime and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production machinery.
- Repair and replace defective parts, using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks, in the maintenance management system.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper operation and integration with existing systems.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical engineering preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Familiarity with high-speed packaging equipment, conveyors, mixers, ovens, and other food processing machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
