Leave Unit Specialist-Leave Management-Mount Sinai Beth Israel-Full Time-Days

Report / Office location : 150 E 42nd Street NY, NY 10017

Job Summary :

  • Provide payroll information to FMLA / LOA / PFL vendors for BU and NBU employees. Provide guidance on Paid / Unpaid leave policies and procedures to employees and managers;
  • investigate and resolve employee inquiries utilizing knowledge of FMLA / PFL hospital policies and procedures and / or Collective Bargaining Agreements;

audit sick / sick savings balances (7 consecutive sick days report) during preliminary payroll; calculate LOA payouts.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from Aetna and all other Leave vendors;
  • Calculate and process LOA and PFL payouts;
  • Review 7 consecutive sick days report and make adjustment in the system;
  • Investigate and resolve employee / department FMLA / LOA / PFL inquiries.
  • Provide guidance to other departments about FMLA / LOA / PFL policies.
  • Keeping track of employees on PFL to ensure correct Absence Management, WEB and KRONOS entries.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements :

Bachelors degree or relevant experience

Experience Requirements :

  • 2 years minimum, preferably 5 years, in a Leave position, Payroll or HR Benefits
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Oracle HR / Payroll system
  • Advanced Excel knowledge

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.

The salary range for this role is $26.59 - $30.69 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.

The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
