The University of Kentucky (UK) is thrilled to announce openings for multiple Grant Specialists to join our new Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) department.

Position : Pre-Award Grant Specialist

Location : Lexington, KY (Remote work options available for experienced candidates)

Type : Full-Time

Department : Collaborative Grant Services (CGS)

Our CGS department provides top-notch, customer-focused, and compliant research administration support to a diverse group of investigatorsfaculty, staff, and studentswho are tackling some of the most complex problems in Kentucky, the nation, and the world.

What Youll Do :

  • Proposal Development : Support the development of sponsored project proposals, including budget preparation and internal approvals.
  • Data Management : Enter and analyze data within various sponsor and university proposal-related systems.
  • Stay Informed : Remain knowledgeable on sponsored project policies and university regulations.
  • Exceptional Service : Provide timely and responsive customer service to faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications :

  • Education / Experience :
  • Masters degree and 1 year of experience (preferred) , OR
  • High School diploma / GED and 7 years of experience, OR
  • Associates degree and 5 years of experience, OR
  • Bachelors degree and 3 years of experience, OR
  • Doctorate degree and no experience.
  • Relevant Experience : Grant proposal, grant management, grant administration, finance, accounting, budgeting, program coordination, and / or administrative experience.
  • Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
