Summary Description : The Employment Specialist is responsible for the provision of direct services to individuals with psychosocial and other disabilities.
The Specialist will support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making, and collaboration.
When possible, he / she will utilize evidence-based practices; always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities :
- Pre-vocational Services : These are time-limited services that prepare an individual for paid or unpaid employment. This service specifically provides learning and work experiences where the individual with mental health and / or disabling substance use disorders can develop general, non-job-task-specific strengths and soft skills that that contribute to employability in competitive work environment as well as in the integrated community settings.
- Rapid job search, including placement and time-limited coaching services.
- Intensive Supported Employment : This service assists recovering individuals with MH / SUDs to obtain and maintain competitive employment.
- On-Going Supported Employment : This service is provided after an individual successfully obtains and becomes oriented to competitive and integrated employment.
- Weekly schedule may include evenings and weekends.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- May be non-licensed and possess an education and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in vocational rehabilitation, disabilities services, business personnel management, or behavioral health counseling.
- Basic Computer knowledge is required.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driver Certification within 30 days of hire
- Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

- Salary Range : $20-22 / hour , based on departmental budget, qualifications, experience, education, and licenses. This range represents the agency’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
- Flexible Work Arrangements : Subject to business needs, including hybrid options.

Special Considerations :
- Employee may be sitting, performing computer work for extended periods of time.
- This is a community-based role that may require you to be mobile and travel within the Lower Hudson Valley region.
