Your Job :

The Medical Assistant works under the general direction of the Physician or Nurse. You will provide healthcare to individuals and families as instructed by the physician. The MA will perform routine clinical processes as directed by the physician, participate in patient education, enter appropriate documentation into patient charts, and perform other duties within the scope of your licensure.

Your Job Requirements :

  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
  • 2+ years of professional medical assisting in a practice setting preferred.
  • National / Registered Medical Assistant Certification or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Extensive standing and walking; exposure to potentially infectious agents, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a physician's office; working under stressful conditions or irregular hours.

Your Job Responsibilities :

  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and discretion when discussing patient information.
  • Implement patient care under the guidance of physicians, MAs, and Office Manager(s).
  • Screen phone calls during triage under physician supervision; function as a patient screener only, without making medical decisions. Refer any medical decision requiring a triage to a physician.
  • Perform intramuscular, intradermal, or subcutaneous injections with proper documentation.
  • Assist physicians and / or MAs in providing nursing care per clinic policies.
  • Take patient history and vitals.
  • Check for expired medication monthly, document, and dispose of appropriately.
  • Manage medical supplies and vaccines, keep the supply closet organized.
  • Assist with Rx refills via fax, e-Rx, or phone, and update medication records.
  • Practice infection control procedures extensively.
  • Clean and disinfect instruments and maintain QA reports for autoclave.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
