Summary
Colville School District is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for the 2025-26 school year. This is a 1.00 FTE position starting August 2025.
This position follows the school year calendar (180-days) plus an additional 9 days per year.
Essential Duties
- Provides educational-related communication intervention for students disabled by disorders of language, speech, or hearing in a variety of settings as appropriate.
- Provide diagnostic and direct services for students with communication needs in cooperation with other staff members, parents, and the public.
- Conduct standardized assessment of speech and language skills for all referred students, complete required reports according to timelines, develop appropriate individual programs and attend weekly team meetings.
- Provide consultant service to classroom teachers and other school personnel.
- Participate in staff development activities.
- Provide speech and language services based on evaluation, planned goals-objectives, and maintain electronic and hard copy records of student progress.
- Work as a positive and collaborative member of the Colville School District staff to foster the primary goals of the District and Student Support Services Department.
- Function as a member of the special education team in providing special education services to students with disabilities by :
- Attending training sessions, conferences, seminars, department and district meetings.
- Serving on District committees, task forces, work groups, etc., as requested.
- Keeping abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education, Training, and Experience :
- Valid and appropriate Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate for the State of Washington.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the learning and behavioral needs of students.
- Demonstrated successful experience at implementing in-class service delivery training collaboration / consultation skills and providing direct educationally related services in areas of speech and language.
- Demonstrated competency of instructional skills in a teaching climate which is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness, and consistency.
- Experience and / or training in deaf / hearing impaired education is desired.
- Experience and / or training with cultural, ethnic, language and hearing diversity is desired.
- Maintain current First Aid / CPR Card or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Three years experience in Speech Therapy preferred. Preference may be given to candidates with direct experience in school settings and / or with school-aged children.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of the principals, practices and ethical standards of Speech Pathology; relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations;
and applicable district policies and procedures.
- Must have knowledge and experience using technology in the delivery of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with students, parents and other educational professionals regarding student concerns and problems.
- Ability to consult with school personnel in developing and implementing effective speech therapy interventions for students.
- Ability to transport self between and among school sites throughout the District, and to students' homes, as necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge and assurance of confidentiality standards.
- Basic computer literacy - word processing, data entry.
Salary & Benefits
This position is part of the Colville Education Association (CEA) Teacher's Bargaining Unit. Salary is in accordance with the Colville Education Association (CEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
