Responsibilities

  • Conceives, creates, and produces artwork for various advertising, promotions, and publications for the college. Includes extensive graphic design and publication experience as well as computer applications to prepare camera-ready and / or electronic art files for printers. Some videography and video editing included.
  • Operate Apple computers and peripherals. Utilize professional-level drawing, photo manipulation, page layout, video production and post-production software to design and create publications, advertising and art for print, web and other electronic media.
  • Project management in a multi-faceted environment. Organize, design, and produce artwork for print, electronic and web advertising, brochures and booklets, flyers, posters, T-shirts, logos, and other publications.
  • High-level knowledge of photography; conversion of photos to publication. Photograph college events and people (portraits) with studio / strobe lighting and advanced digital SLR cameras and lenses.
  • Optimize highly technical electronic files for electronic output. Access, input and retrieve information from computer art files.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications and other MAC Department staff to produce and update publications and other marketing tools. Stay current in design trends, especially higher education and target demographics marketing.
  • Provide high-quality service during consultations to internal clients for design approaches and project completion. Work with outside vendors for best quality and most efficient final output of print and digital marketing materials.
  • Attend meetings and college functions as assigned, including set-up and assistance with special events. Participate in campus committees as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Associate's degree in graphic arts, communication, or related field.
  • Ten years of full-time experience, including computer graphics.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite (9 or newer) with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere or After Effects.
  • Knowledge of Pantone color guides and conventional art / drafting tools.
  • Knowledge of Apple computer systems and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of graphics / software used in production of electronic artwork and file formats; knowledge of trapping of spot colors, image resolution, halftoning, RGB color space, and file acquisition for four-color process and grayscale images.
  • Experience integrating design and text / copy from various sources.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic arts, communication, or related field.
  • Additional skills in photography and post-production photo editing / manipulation, and videography.
  • Preferred knowledge of INDEXED COLOR.
