Registered Nurse Pediatric Surgery Full Time Nights

Up to $15,000 Sign-On bonus for experienced Registered Nurse / RN

Summary

The Registered Nurse / RN Pediatrics is responsible to collect and submit reliable data to the ACS NSQIP. The Registered Nurse / RN Pediatrics accomplishes this through high quality data compilation, documentation and entry into the NS QIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital.

The The Registered Nurse / RN Pediatrics works closely with the members of the Department of Surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement.

Other special projects may be identified. Committee work is a key component of this position.

Qualifications

Education

Required : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Preferred : Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree)

Certifications

Required : Must be currently RN / Registered Nurse State of Florida.

Experience

Minimum 1 year experience in hospital surgery department, research or medical records preferred. Computer and internet experience required.

Familiarity with MS Office- Word and Excel required. Database data entry and / or management experience preferred. Basic statistical knowledge preferred.

Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience preferred

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.

The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.

Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.

Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.

Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Education :

Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.

Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

Experience :

Preferred : Recent acute care experience.

Certifications :

Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;

CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
