You proactively employ evidence-based clinical diagnosis and treatment guidelines to provide relationship-centered care, considering the psychosocial and physical needs of our diverse population.
What you will do : *In collaboration with the Physician, you will provide a wide range of functions and technical procedures essential for admissions, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation.
You will be vital in delivering patient-centered care, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative health care services.
- Primary responsibilities : Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and formulate ongoing treatment / disease management plans for the continuity and efficiency of care* Educate patients on pre-and post-operative evaluations and assist with surgical procedures* Counsel patients and families on health maintenance, disease diagnosis / prevention, self-management, and other lifestyle changes* Maintain accurate patient records and proper billing
- Actively participate in performance improvement, research, and educational activities to comply with regulatory requirements for a safe working environment*What you will bring to this role : Graduation from an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Program or equivalent as approved by the New York State Education Department* Valid New York State Physician Assistant license* Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and NYS-mandated Infection Control Course certificates* Excellent written and verbal communication skillsLocated in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, TBHC is a clinical affiliate of The Mount Sinai Hospital and an academic affiliate of The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
