Receives and directs visitors, employment applicants, salespersons and customers to appropriate locations and parties. May perform related clerical work such as word processing.
Additional duties may include filing, sorting, mail distribution and completing special clerical projects.
Your Impact
Essential Functions :
- Direct incoming calls in a courteous and efficient manner, as well as answer inquiries.
- Typically operates a single or multiple position telephone system.
- Greet and direct visitors within building as needed in contacting appropriate employees.
- Perform a variety of routine typing and clerical duties as necessary.
- Use company intranet, paging or other computer-based systems.
- Label envelopes for mailings as needed.
- Filing, sorting, and mail distribution as needed.
- Receive and direct incoming faxes, travel tickets, flowers, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Credentials :
- High School diploma or equivalency certificate required although special training or qualifications may be substituted for diploma, certificate or experience.
- Minimum one year receptionist experience required
Required Skills & Abilities :
- Communicates effectively both orally and personally as well as demonstrates courtesy and tact when dealing with customers.
- Professional appearance required.
- Ability to remain flexible in a work environment subject to change.
- Required to be proficient in Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel).
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to sit and participate in sustained activity for many hours in accordance with state labor laws.
- Visual, auditory, and speaking skills sufficient to answer phones and inquiries.
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day / shift.
