AHN Pharmacy provides integrated, accessible pharmacy services which improve the continuity of care and pharmacotherapy services offered to our clients, staff and the public.

We are seeking a CO Licensed Pharmacist to work at our pharmacy in Littleton, CO. This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday, 8-5.

Job Purpose :

The Clinical Psychiatric Pharmacist will provide professional pharmaceutical services by reviewing medication orders, dispensing medications and related supplies, monitoring patient medication therapies, providing drug information to healthcare providers and clients, overseeing the work of direct support personnel, and performing related duties as assigned.

  • Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Works collaboratively with inter-professional teams to optimize drug therapy.
  • Provides direct patient care, including treatment assessment and medication management activities.
  • Monitors for potential adverse drug reactions, interactions and medication side-effects.
  • Assesses laboratory results.
  • Documents all pharmacy recommendations accurately and completely.
  • Evaluates and educates others on medical literature.
  • Conducts medication education groups for patients.
  • Educates patients and families on medications as well as common physical and psychiatric conditions, potential interactions and medication side-effects.
  • Teaches other health care students, residents, and practitioners.
  • Refers patients to other services as needed.
  • Contacts and / or makes self available to medical providers identified as needing consultation to provide coaching on prescriptions and prescribing practices that have been identified as outliers.
  • Communicates frequently with client to report outcomes, establish priorities, and maintain positive client relationship.
  • Responds to client's requests for information.
  • Assesses, investigates and resolves difficult issues to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Analyzes client reports to identify additional clinical opportunities to present to the client.
  • Leads the development of psychiatric clinical program enhancements and better practices.
  • Complies with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrates and utilizes professional knowledge, skills and competency to provide safe and effective drug therapy.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in field of expertise to assure that organization practices are up to date.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge :

a. Education

Required : Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree and licensed in the State of Colorado.

Proof of current pharmacist license required. Board Certification in psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP).

Preferred (one or more of the following) :

  • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency
  • Work experience equivalent to a PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency (generally 3 or more years of full-time practice in psychiatric pharmacy)

b. Experience : Must have experience in pharmacy and a strong knowledge of pharmacy practices. Demonstrated written and / or verbal communication skills necessary.

c. Skills : Must maintain a courteous and respectful approach to clients, staff, community referral sources and administrative staff.

Ability to research and disseminate drug therapy information to health care personnel. Possess good analytical ability to gather and interpret information and to recommend and implement solutions.

d. Other : Ability to life equipment and supplies up to 15 lbs.

Hourly Rate : $142,000 - $148,000 annually with BCPP credentials
