Summary :

This job reports to the System Director, Clinical SupplyChain. The Program Director Clinical Service Line will beresponsible for providing management, and development of theservice line clinical utilization program and service line whileproviding support for the implementation of the service lineprojects either identified by the internal Supply Chain team,Clinical Leadership, or the GPO.

This position will be responsiblefor the coordination, and management of clinical projects as wellas representing the service line expertise to all CHRISTUS Healthfacilities and staff including C-Suite and physicians.

To be aneffective part of the team; must be a self-sufficient person whocan interpret facility needs, be able to effectively manageprojects from beginning to end, translate objectives, executeoutcomes, and present project deliverables to both line staff andexecutive staff.

Responsibilities :

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUSCompetencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader ofLeaders.
  • Follows the CHRISTUS Health guidelinesrelated to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA) designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure ofProtected Health Information (PHI).
  • Consistentlysupports CHRISTUS Health’s Spirit of Serving Standards, in linewith the Mission, Vision, and values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert to all CHRISTUS Healthfacility department directors, C-Suite, and physicians.
  • Assists in implementing CHRISTUS Health Resource UtilizationClinical Standards of Business practices, market standardization,consumption minimization management system wide while supportingthe Supply Chain Vision and Mission.
  • Establish,track, and monitor the service line’s annual performance objectives both qualitative and quantitative and report these on a regularbasis (minimum quarterly) to the Team and System Director.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates the service line projectson annual project / work plan.
  • Provides leadership andserves as clinical expert to the System Value Analysis Teams andall CHRISTUS Health facilities for the service line.
  • Serves as the clinical expert for the service line to thecontracting team.
  • Identifies opportunities for customcontracts to fill gaps and increase contract coverage for theCHRISTUS Health System.
  • Assess and quantify clinicalutilization opportunities available to CHRISTUS Health.
  • Presents project rationale, timeline and opportunity impact forapproval and updates annual work plan.
  • Manages,tracks, and regularly reports on status of service lineprojects.
  • Identifies opportunities within serviceline that assist system in lowering not only cost of supplies butalso utilization of supplies and process improvement.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert in the assigned service lineand can develop tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness ofthe process.
  • Collaborates with the other team membersto develop overall clinical utilization strategies and effectiveimplementation plans.
  • Sets and achieves savingstargets for service line working with GPO (Group PurchasingOrganization) and clinical groups.
  • Interfaces withvarious levels of management and requires external contacts withimportant end users, hospital executives, internal customers, andsuppliers to develop solutions.
  • Uses research, dataanalysis and modelling to gain support for project implementationand development of project plan.
  • Uses evidence-basedpractice to support system and facilities with value analysiscommittees.
  • Designs and creates charts, graphs,tables, and reports to support findings and developrecommendations.
  • Assists with evaluation of newproducts in the facilities coordinating with facility-basedimplementation teams and suppliers.

Establishes timelines, use ofCHRISTUS evaluation forms and communication tools to ensure smoothproduct evaluation.

  • Cultivates and develops both newand existing relationships in the facilities.
  • Provides system-wide Clinical Resource Utilization &Contracting activities and direction for the advancement ofenterprise contract compliance, contract integrity and support forall National, System or Regional Strategic Sourcingstrategies.
  • Develops and plans for any mitigationsteps necessary to meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborates with the other team members to develop overallclinical utilization strategies and effective implementationplans.
  • Highly proficient in the use of the MicrosoftOffice suite, including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and MSOutlook.
  • Influential communicator, speaker, andlistener.
  • Analytical and quantitative thinker.
  • Business planning skills to include cost impactanalysis.
  • Enjoys teaching, coaching, andmentoring.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcarecost accounting, finance, reimbursement, clinical services, andancillary and related support services.
  • Highlyproficient traveler with ability to be away from home up to30%.
  • Ability to operate in a complex, dynamicenvironment.
  • Ability to write routine reports andcorrespondence.
  • Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
  • Ability to work occasional long or irregular hoursincluding nights and weekends.
  • Meeting deadlines inhigh pressure environment.
  • Performs other duties asassigned by the System Director, Clinical Supply Chain.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degreerequired.
  • Master’s Degreepreferred.
  • 5-7 years related experiencein healthcare service line required. Experience in this specificservice line a plus.
  • Requires a highdegree of professional knowledge in the specific service lineproducts and processes.
  • Requires a highdegree of Value Analysis Team processes and experience in leadingsuch Teams.
  • Leadership experiencepreferred.
  • Active licensure as an RNwithin the United States preferred.
