Job Summary
The Senior Partnership Development Manager plays a strategic leadership role within the Computer Society, responsible for establishing new relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders and business partners, fostering partnerships, and identifying and developing resources to impact long-term operational and strategic goals and objectives.
This position requires an understanding of the computing industry, its challenges, and emerging trends.
This position is responsible for the corporate partnership program and will support projects that focus on industry engagement.
The desired outcomes are new institutional partnerships, longer-term revenue generations, and the increased relevance of IEEE to untapped markets.
The role reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and manages 0 - 1 direct reports. This position works under general guidelines on overall business strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow the Society’s corporate partnership program and support the growth of the Society’s exhibit and sponsorship sales programs by developing qualified new leads and collaborating with appropriate Sales Manager to close.
- Drive industry growth for the society through current network of industry connections and relationships. Serve as a connector within the industry through participation in industry conferences, speaking engagements, and thought leadership.
- Execute on strategic initiatives : including research, outreach, identification of potential partners, relationship initiation with internal and external entities;
assessment of opportunities
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and volunteer stakeholders to align industry development strategies with overall Society objectives.
- Lead efforts in identifying, evaluating, and pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships opportunities.
- Manage the development of comprehensive market analysis, competitive intelligence, and economic forecasting reports for the benefit of industry partners and prosects.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
Work Experience
- 7-10 years (With a minimum of 5 years of direct experience) in project implementation, relationship management, and business development with high tech multinational companies. Req
- 4-7 years International experience or knowledge of global markets Req
- 4-7 years Experience working with volunteers, boards, and committees Pref
- Prior experience working in tech industry, and with high-level executives Pref
- Prior work experience in client service organization Pref
Skills and Requirements
- Proficient n Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel and in hosting webinars
- Must have the ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and make decisions with minimal guidance and oversight
- Must be a flexible, open-minded worker with a high energy level, and must possess the ability to quickly build rapport
- Must possess the ability to effectively work across the spectrum of the IEEE professional staff and volunteer and client organizations, especially with volunteer Directors and C-Level executives
- Must possess the ability to identify opportunities and connectors to maximize relationship success for all parties
- Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, one-on-one discussion skills, and presentation skills
- Must possess outstanding business writing skills and business etiquette knowledge
- Must possess personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to high standards, attention to detail and teamwork
- Must possess the ability to manage program objectives for discussion and, ultimately, approval from corporate partner
- Must be appropriately comfortable with ambiguity and risk; and work well in an entrepreneurial environment
- Must must possess the ability to prioritize multiple duties / tasks and meet deadlines
- Must must be equally effective and comfortable working behind the scenes as well as in roles that are highly visible to the public, the volunteer organization, and the staff organization;
- Must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions
- Must be able to travel extensively and outside of the US, up to 75% of the time.
