Volt is immediately hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer in Rochester, NY

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will :

The Manufacturing Engineer II operates with minimal supervision and is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes within a single facility. This role supports the production of both new and existing products by improving efficiency, quality, cost, and safety. It may also involve planning assembly layouts, testing new systems, and managing capital projects, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Plans and designs basic manufacturing processes
  • Determines equipment and tooling needs
  • Develops and implements efficiency, safety, and cost-focused projects
  • May lead small teams
  • Advises on design concepts and specifications
  • Ensures processes meet regulatory standards
  • Applies technical standards and principles
  • Investigates and resolves quality issues
  • Suggests corrective actions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in applying engineering concepts to solution lines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement methods (e.g., pull systems, JIT, process mapping)
  • Working knowledge of :
  • Data structures and database programming

  • CAD / CAM and computer-aided manufacturing systems
  • Standard business and data analysis software
  • Engineering drawings and specifications
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Salary : $70,000-$80,000
