About the Role of Provider Network Executive II
The Provider Network Executive (PNE II) develops and maintains effective relationships with Premera's providers in the Alaska market to achieve Premera's operational and strategic goals, product development strategies, and continuity of Premera's vision and values. In this role, the PNE II operates in a complex environment, negotiating standard and non-standard agreements, and manages the ongoing provider relationships with an eye on meeting our commitment to reducing the total cost of care.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the main point of contact for the provider and coordinate all Premera interactions with assigned provider accounts.
- Build and maintain positive physician / provider account relationships. Utilize consultative skills, industry knowledge, and Premera product knowledge to foster a collaborative approach to quality care, network stability and cost containment.
- Develop and maintain effective standard provider networks with standard fee schedules, monitoring the adequacy of those networks under the guidance of management.
- Lead negotiation and implementation of standard provider agreements.
- Consult and educate assigned accounts, provide industry and cross account expertise, train on Premera tools / resources, and participate in provider specific and public presentations.
- Proactively communicate with Provider Strategy & Solutions (PS&S) leadership and internal stakeholders on account status to facilitate proper internal support of account management efforts to ensure that the resulting final contract supports Premera's operational and strategic goals.
- Engage providers to promote the concept and understanding of patient engagement adherence and cost savings preventative programs.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Economics (HCE) in rate development and proposal analysis.

What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of experience in a provider or payer environment. (Required)Two (2) years of experience in managing provider relationships in the health care or insurance industry. (Required)Project management experience. (Preferred)Knowledge of regulatory issues such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Patient Bill of Rights (PBR).Knowledge of network development and provider / vendor recruitment.Knowledge of provider community and market anomalies.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage standard rate and language contract negotiations.Familiarity with contracting terminology.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy.Self-motivated with ability to lead with minimal direction.Successful verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to develop presentations, speak in public, make group presentations, and conduct training.Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to lead small teams.Strong organizational, planning and administrative skills.Ability to work under pressure with limited resources, competing priorities and managing specific project timelines.Working Environment :
Work is performed within a normal office environment with ambient temperatures.Ability to travel; overnight as required.Ability to attend scheduled meetings at providers' offices.Physical Requirements :

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Salary Range : $78,000.00 - $111,200.00
National Plus Salary Range : $78,000.00 - $126,800.00
National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.We're happy to discuss compensation further during the interview because we believe that open communication leads to better outcomes for all. We
