Summary :

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and the DSD, creates staffing schedules to meet the state requirements and the customer service needs of the residents of the Care Center.

Other duties may include those of an RNA. Assists the physical, occupational and speech therapists to carry out doctor ordered plans of care.

Detailed Responsibilities :

• Staffing Coordinator
• Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
• Develops a schedule on a monthly basis for registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, certified nursing assistants, restorative nursing assistants, and patient care coordinators.
• Manages requests for vacations and paid time off (PTO) and communicates with the director of nursing designee.
• Determines and communicates open positions for hire.
• Prepares daily staffing to be posted per regulation.
• Manages cancellation and call-offs on a day-to-day basis.
• Calculates daily nursing hours per patient day to assure compliance per regulations.
• Communicates with new employees to schedule for orientation and staffing schedule.
• Assures requirements are met for each shift to provide appropriate staffing ratios.
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner and reports any safety hazards and / or accidents to the supervisor.
• Attends all mandatory in-service meetings and complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.

• Print Supplement Order for Distribution
• Synchronize PDA's on each Floor, Check All PDA's and Items in Orbits
• Train nursing staff on Orbits, update Orbits product system
• Do Orbits Audits
• Add New Receptionists to System & Give Authorization
• Help Resolve Errors, Remove Temp Employees
• Malfunction of Equipment Call Contracted Vendor to Fix Equipment (Vital Sign Machines, Oxygen Concentrators, Tenant Carpet Shampoo Extractor, Scales)

Competencies and Skills :

Essential :

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedures manuals, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Education with Equivalent Qualifications :

Essential :

High School diploma or GED.

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications :

Nonessential :

0 Year Long term care, geriatric and / or rehabilitative nursing.
