- Salary : $70,000-75,000

Penda Aiken Inc. (PAI) is a M / WBE-certified boutique staffing agency located in downtown Brooklyn. As PAI’s Business Development Representative (BDR), you will become the lead for business development.
The BDR will develop key customer relationships, coordinate, and implement marketing plans intended to increase business and capture new opportunities with the government, non-profit, and for-profit community.
The BDR will also be involved in strategic marketing and planning. The BDR will have full knowledge of the corporate and government capabilities portfolio and collaborate with those entities to increase the customer base and maximize sales potential.
The BDR will be responsible for contacting existing and potential customers and briefing PAI capabilities.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and cultivate relationships with various businesses and candidates through networking and participation in career fairs.
- Understand defined market attributes to assist in developing business development strategies for long term and sustained growth.
- Recruit for specific business lines based on approved plans and staffing projections.
- Collaborate with management to assess workforce needs, develop strategy, and implement work plans to meet the needs of the designated practice areas.
- Communicate progress to PAI management - report regarding sales goals, recruiting and other special project progress.
- Proactively research and manage sources used to generate business and candidate pipeline with little supervision.
- Manage the business development process which includes :
- Generate and follow up on business leads.
- Create client profiles and job specifications.
- Work w / PAI recruiters to source candidates for respective business lines
- Ensure information is properly maintained for reporting purposes within the PAI management system.
- Manage sales goals and costs effectively.
- Attending monthly staff meetings.
- Attend networking events.
- Conduct client site visits.
- Assist w / projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communication, etc.
- 3+ years of business development experience within a recruiting firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to prepare marketing material and brief information to potential customers.
- Understanding of government and commercial proposal requirements
- Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning Selling to Customer Needs,
- Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Energy Level, Meeting Sales Goals,
- Proficiency in writing, excellent communication, and organization skills
