- Usingdental instruments to clean accretions calcareous deposits andstains from teeth and beneath margins ofgums.
- Lookingfor indications of oral cancer by feeling lymph nodes under patientchins for signs of tenderness orswelling.
- Notingand reviewing patient medicalhistory.
- Usingprobes to examine and locate periodontal recessed gums and othersigns of gumdisease.
- Recordingdental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment bydentists.
- Maintainingdental equipment and xraymachine.
- Feelingand visually examining gums for signs of disease sores and otherdental healthissues.
- Exposingand developing xrayfilm.
- Sharpeningand sterilizing dentalinstruments.
- Promotingpreventative dental care to improve patient oral healthcare.
- Applyingfluorides and other dental decay preventionagents.
- Workingwith dentists and dentalassistants.
