Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Director of PES to the Behavioral Health department at NYC Health + Hospitals / Nort h Central Bronx.

NCB is a 457-bed community hospital providing quality care in a friendly and setting. This facility provides a range of services, and is known for its outstanding Behavioral Health, Women’s Health, Primary Care, Pediatric, Geriatric and Specialty Ambulatory services.

The department of Psychiatry has 3 Adult Inpatient Units, a satellite CPEP, a Psychiatry Consultation Liaison service, a Partial Hospital Program, an Outpatient Department, and an ACT team.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center to continue its high standards of healthcare delivery, and to provide its staff with teaching and research opportunities.

Responsibilities

Direct supervision of attending psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers and psychiatric PA staff.

Overseeing the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care and directly working with leaders in the other areas of the department including both in-patient and ambulatory programs, as well as the Emergency Medicine Department.

Assuming an important role in Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness.

Providing leadership in undergraduate medical education including active participation in the clinical and didactic teaching of medical students, PA students, Psychology Interns and Social Work students.

Incident review management and participation in departmental IR meetings.

Reviewing / revising guidelines for standards of care ensuring that the PES meets the DOH, CMS, Joint Commission and OMH standards and regulations.

Academic affiliation with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center with teaching and leadership opportunities

Qualifications

Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry

  • Completion of an approved Psychiatry residency training program
  • MD or DO from accredited school of medicine
  • License to practice medicine in the State of NY
