Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Technician II to support our client’s medical facility based in Portland, OR. This is a 6+ Month with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title : Medical Lab Technician II

Location : Portland, OR

Position Type : Full-time, Evening Shift / Night (MLT), Temp to Hire

Salary : $27 - $31 per hour

Shift : Evening / Night both shifts available

Duration : 6months+

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures following Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure functionality.
• Make technical decisions and solve problems related to testing.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate protective equipment.

Work Environment / Department : Microbiology

Requirements :

• Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State).
• 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• State Medical Technician license as required.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required.
• Experience with bacterial culture reading essential.

Additional Requirements :

• Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must pass standardized color vision screening.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Additional Comments :

• Hep B and MMR vaccination required; declination only allowed for Hep B.
• Medical screening includes TB screen, MMR screen, and color vision screening.
