IT Project Manager Specialist - w2 opportunity

Position Overview :

Site : Mclean, VA or Plano Texas (hybrid)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Enterprise Risk Management Technology Lead to join One of our US clients for their Enterprise Business Technology Office.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions that drive transformation across the enterprise.

You will partner with multiple stakeholders to define strategies, technical approaches, and objectives, leveraging Agile methodologies and modern cloud technologies to meet business needs.

This role is not focused on Agile coaching or project management but requires a deep understanding of technical development and project leadership.

Your Impact :

As a key member of the Enterprise Risk Management Technologies Team, you will :

• Lead efforts to develop and implement cutting-edge technology solutions for client's risk management functions.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and technological strategies.
• Drive the design and delivery of cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS and SaaS platforms.
• Utilize Agile methodologies to transform business processes and deliver high-value capabilities efficiently.
• Mentor and manage a diverse team of IT professionals, ensuring both technical excellence and alignment with business objectives.
• Ensure successful vendor and stakeholder management to achieve project milestones and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide leadership to a team of 20+ IT professionals, driving technical delivery and fostering strong partnerships across multiple business units.
• Develop and communicate technical strategies and solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Oversee the end-to-end development process, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Provide technical mentorship to the team, offering guidance on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), modern architectures, and development languages (Java, JavaScript, Python).
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise Operations and the PMO, collaborating on vendor management and key technology strategies.
• Ensure seamless SaaS implementation and integration with DevSecOps processes.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a technical role, with a strong preference for individuals with a development background.
• 3+ years of experience in project management , overseeing large-scale, complex technology initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage teams of 20+ IT professionals and collaborate with various business areas concurrently to deliver technology solutions.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and SaaS implementations .
• Proficient in Agile development methodologies and experience leading Agile product teams.
• Experience with stakeholder management , vendor management , and people management .
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps pipelines .
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into business-friendly language.

• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary Agile teams focused on delivery, team dynamics, and daily operations.
• Strong leadership in managing stakeholders, both internal and external, and ensuring strategic alignment.
• Ability to manage technical mentorship, vendor relations, and collaboration with business partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective communication between technical teams and business leaders.
• Understanding of cloud-based software development and SaaS solutions within a fast-paced environment.

Preferred :

• Finance industry background is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Prior experience transitioning from a hands-on developer role to a project or technical management position.

Notes :

• This is not an Agile or Scrum Coach position, nor just a project management role.
• There is no coding requirement, but a deep technical understanding is essential.
• Certifications are not required.
