JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects.
This role involves managing cross-functional teams, coordinating resources, and ensuring that projects align with business goals and objectives.
The IT Project Manager is also responsible for maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and sponsors and providing regular project status updates.
- Lead and manage the overall strategy, approach, planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects to meet business objectives.
- Develop and maintain project artifacts including charter, budget, schedule, status reports, change management plan and RAID log.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and business units to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery or quality.
- Monitor and track project progress, providing regular status updates to stakeholders and sponsors.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring clarity and alignment on project objectives and expectations.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to project team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- years of experience in an IT project manager or similar role.
- year degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems or related IT field.
- Previous financial services industry and consulting experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated consultative mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to identify solutions, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex topics in a clear and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of IT topics such as infrastructure, software development and technology solutions commonly used in the industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
- A passion for learning and a desire to grow.
- Ability to apply new skills quickly while dealing with ambiguity.
