Cath Lab Rad Technologist II - Days

The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist II is anexperienced fully competent Technologist with specialized trainingand knowledge of cardiovascular procedures directly related to theCardiac Catherization Laboratory Responsible for assistingphysicians with highly specialized and complex interventional andtherapeutic radiologic procedures including but not limited to : peripheral and coronary angioplasty stents rotablators artherectomylaser and coronary ultrasound;

electrophysiology proceduresincluding ablations and device implantation. A member of the directpatient care team actively participates and scrubs into Cath Labcases to assist with the movement and alignment of equipment aswell as the control of radiation throughout procedures.

Serves as amentor to Cath Lab Rad Tech Is Cath Lab RNs and students byutilizing skills and knowledge to help train and educate others.

Works independently exercising sound judgment and executing aboveaverage clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures andpatient care situations.

Delivers exceptional patient care andadheres to radiation standards and guidelines established byradiology agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customerservice.

This job requires availability to be on call.

SERVICE ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Performsinterventional and therapeutic radiologic procedures including butnot limited to : peripheral and coronary angioplasty stentsrotablators artherectomy laser and coronary ultrasound;

electrophysiology procedures including ablations and deviceimplantation fluoroscopy and cine modalities as well asrecommending various radiological techniques to maximize bestvisualization of patients cardiacanatomy.

• Activelyparticipates and scrubs into Cath Lab cases to assist with themovement and alignment of equipment as well as the control ofradiation throughoutprocedures.
• Provides carefor the physical needs of patients by executing various Radiologicconcepts to maximize performance. This includes : positioningphysiology procedure preparation and technical factors.

Modifiestechnical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizescomplications / limitations associated with certain procedures.

Proactively identifies how to address these for optimumoutcomes.

QUALITY / SAFETYESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Followsradiation safety standards and conducts all imaging proceduresaccordingly. Properly utilizes patient radiation protection andimmobilization during diagnostic procedures.

Maintains propersterile techniques for procedures regularly practices aseptictechniques and ensures compliance with infection controlprocedures.

Complies with job departmental and hospital safetystandards practices andpolicies.

Ensures allimaging equipment has had QC performed as required and is in safeworking order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to managementand regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures;

callsfor service ifneeded.

FINANCE ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Provides accurateand complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges atthe time service isdelivered.

GROWTH / INNOVATIONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Participates indepartmental projects and shared governanceactivities.

WORKEXPERIENCE

At least 3 yearsexperience as a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist; may consider HMCath Lab Radiologic Technologist with at least two years Cath Labexperience of which at least one has been withHM

LICENSES ANDCERTIFICATIONSREQUIRED

• ARRTR RadiologicTechnologist Radiographer (ARRT) AND
• CMRT Certified MedicalRadiologic Technologist State Licensure Registration as a MedicalRadiologic Technologist (MRTGC) AND
• BLS Basic Life Support(AHA) AND
• ACLS AdvancedCardiac Life Support (AHA)
