Summary :
We seek a skilled and experienced Film / VFX Pipeline Developer to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will develop and maintain our production pipeline, ensuring that our artists and production teams can work efficiently and effectively.
You will collaborate closely with various departments to provide technical direction, troubleshoot issues, and implement innovative solutions to optimize our workflows.

Responsibilities :
- Pipeline Development and Maintenance :
- Develop and maintain efficient and scalable production pipelines.
- Implement tools and scripts to optimize workflow processes for artists and production teams.
- Troubleshoot and debug pipeline issues, providing technical support to artists and production staff.
- Identify and develop workflows to connect different production systems and processes.
- Technical Direction :
- Work closely with the CD, producers, broadcast, and other department leads to understand project requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation for pipeline tools, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure seamless integration of various software and technologies within the pipeline.
- Asset Management :
- Oversee the management of assets, ensuring proper version control and storage.
- Develop and implement asset tracking systems to monitor the progress and status of assets throughout the production pipeline.
- Training and Support :
- Provide training and support to artists on pipeline tools and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies and implement improvements as necessary.
- Collaboration :
- Liaise with production teams to ensure efficient workflows and communication.
- Work closely with IT and other technical departments to ensure smooth hardware and software resources operation.
- Participate in production meetings, providing technical insights and updates on pipeline status.
Experience :
- Technical Skills :
- Experience in both 2D & 3D workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like Python, MEL, and C++.
- Strong knowledge of VFX software, including Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and other industry-standard tools.
- Experience with transcoding workflows (i.e., FFMPEG) for large media formats
- Experience with Shotgrid, Perforce, and asset management systems.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting render management systems (e.g., Deadline), both cloud and on-premise
- Experience with high resolution, high frame rate content production (we work in 23k)
- Experience :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the VFX or animation industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining production pipelines.
- Experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced production environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Ability to think critically and adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Communication Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Education :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

- Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Passion for VFX, animation, and film production.
The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $90,000 to $130,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
