The Director of Culinary Services directs all activities of the Culinary Service Department and dining room. The Director of Culinary Services is responsible for the quality of meals served, quality of service delivery during meal service, control of Dietary Department expenses, and for compliance with special diets offered by the community.

What you do for us :
- Responsible for planning, directing, controlling, communicating, and coaching in the dining service department.
- Follow the Menu Program that meets nutritional requirements.
- Ensure that all foods are prepared to satisfaction of residents and in accordance with safe food handling practices.
- Circulate in the dining room to ascertain resident preferences and satisfaction with meals.
- Provide input and support to the Executive Director on new hires and training staff in the dietary department.
- Maintain a clean kitchen and dining room including all equipment, walls, ceilings, vents, dry storage, cold storage, cooking areas, preparation surfaces, and dish storage areas.
- Foster teamwork with co-workers, take actions that assist others beyond job responsibilities, treat others with respect, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements :
- This facility is subject to federal requirements through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services relating to COVID-19 vaccinations for staff, therefore a COVID vaccine is required unless an approved accommodation is in place.
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors!
- One year of experience in food services preparation and two years of managing staff
- Three years of experience in food service preparation and managing staff.
- Current Serv / Safe Certification required. Obtain / hold any local, state, and / or county-required food handling / sanitation licenses and / or certificates.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must meet all health requirements, including Health screening and TB clearance
- Must pass a drug screen, state-required fingerprinting, and criminal background process.
- First Aide certification
Preferred :
2 years of continuing education
