Position Summary Description
Performs as part of the Operations Planning team within System Operations and provides support in the areas of operations planning studies, reporting, data collection and analyses, NERC compliance and other related initiatives requiring a basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and strong analytical skills.
As a Cooperative Education Student within the System Operations Division, the candidate may participate in cross-training and support the Control Center Operations and Resource Planning Groups.
Essential Functions
- Supports operations planning related technical studies and other related activities using power flow and production cost modeling applications, tools and templates.
- Assists with collection of data and information in support of routine reporting; prepares draft reports.
- Assists with NERC standard related job functions including evidence collection and documentation.
- Participates in developing and maintaining tools, templates and reports in support of System Operations.
- Participates in the drafting of corporate procedures and other related technical documents.
- Prepares and updates system documentation including transmission drawings / diagrams, equipment documentation and data, operating manuals, practices and procedures.
- Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned based upon the needs of the department.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
Candidate is required to be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent program from an ABET accredited program.
Junior class standing with at least one (1) semester of specialization core classes completed is required. Co-op students are expected to be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester, maintain a 2.
75 GPA, and work approximately 20 hours a week. Candidates able to work a minimum of two (2) semesters prior to graduation are preferred.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
