Job Squad is looking for Material Handlers for the 1st Shift in Joliet, IL.
Responsibilities :
- Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers
- Always maintains forklift safety following all safety policies and procedures
- Ability to operate sit down forklift and / or EPJs
- General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment
- Loads and unloads truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers’ equipment
- Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights
- Picking and moving stock from 1 lb.
- Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly
- Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping
- Processing outbound cross-dock freight as necessary
- Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers
- Records and verifies the accuracy of the shipments against the paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments / deliveries
- Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed
- Completes daily forklift maintenance inspections
- Handles all customer products properly and orderly
- Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage
- Alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary
- Reports all accidents / incidents, to employee, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately
- Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day
- Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility keeping them free of debris or snow
- Other tasks as assigned by manager
- Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and be able to work with limited supervision
- Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts
