Field Service Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team, focusing on servicing and maintaining medical laboratory equipment such as hematology, chemistry, and coagulation analyzers.
This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence and high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service quality.
Based in the greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area, you will handle on-site installations, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs, providing both technical and training support directly to our clients.
Ideal candidates should possess a robust electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting background, excellent customer service skills, and flexibility for overnight travel as needed.
Compensation : $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 plus overtime & performance bonus potentially adding an additional $4K - $8K annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Installation, servicing, and preventive maintenance of medical instrumentation.
- Establish and maintain solid customer relationships by solving problems and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the Field Support Group to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain a fully stocked inventory of parts and tools in company vehicle to ensure readiness for immediate repairs and maintenance.
- Provide basic on-site training to customers on the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and records in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures while upholding the highest level of service standards.
Minimum Position Qualifications :
- A Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field service engineer.
- Expertise in electronics & electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to travel overnight as required for job completion and customer demands.
- Must reside within 0.5 hours of the greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Recent field service experience in the Medical Device industry.
- Experience servicing medical laboratory analyzers such as hematology, chemistry, or coagulation instruments.
Skills :
- Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Highly driven, proactive, and with a strong sense of accountability.
