We are searching for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Oak Brook, Illinois. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, with a primary focus on bank reconciliations.
This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the finance industry.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions
- Investigate and rectify discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records
- Utilize financial software, such as Yardi, for recording, tracking, and reconciling financial transactions
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards
- Collaborate with other departments to align with company-wide financial goals and obtain necessary financial information
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders about financial transactions and discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing accurate and reconciled financial data
- Contribute to the generation of financial statements for management and regulatory reporting
- Identify opportunities for improving bank reconciliation procedures and implement solutions to enhance financial processes
- Organize and file financial documents for ease of retrieval and auditing.
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger management
- Proficiency in creating and managing Journal Entries
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Knowledge and experience with NetSuite software
- Experience with Oracle software
- Proficiency in QuickBooks software
- Knowledge and experience with SAP software
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Professional ethics and understanding of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
