ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY :

Comtech Systems, Inc (CSI) is looking for Help Desk Technical Tier II Support candidates who will be responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software that comprises a computer network.

Candidates will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

  • Prefer candidates with a valid US passport.
  • Must have an active, current Secret Clearance.

PRIMARY DUTIES :

All candidates will perform the following duties :

  • Be proficient in IP communications and packet analysis.
  • Provide detailed knowledge of Central Authentication, Authorization and Accounting via Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS+).
  • Provide detailed knowledge of layer 3 technologies, such as HSRP, EIGRP, and BGP.
  • Provide detailed knowledge of layer 2 technologies, such as Rapid Spanning-Tree.
  • Provide detailed knowledge of end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) and multicast design and implementation.
  • Provide detailed knowledge of Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE), Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC), and Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN) deployments and configurations.
  • Provide detailed knowledge of access control lists and security practices.
  • Provide knowledge and familiarity with Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS)-based routers within the ASR 1000, 3900, 3800, and 2800 families;

Cisco IOS based switches within the 6500, 4500, and 3750 families.

  • Provide network troubleshooting skills and knowledge of networks.
  • Provide technical documentation skills.
  • Provide communication and interpersonal skills.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

All candidates will have the following minimum skills :

  • Six (6) years of related work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military environment.
  • Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles (Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)), and security practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with diverse audiences, internally and externally to foster strong teamwork.
  • Work well independently or as a member of a team environment
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, OR an Associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR eleven (11) total years of recent specialized experience.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in maintaining certifications related to the requirement of the position.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

All candidates will have one (1) of the following required certification(s) :

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
  • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
  • Certified Network Defender (CND)
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
