Our Opportunity

• We are currently seeking a Managing Engineer with expertise in ADAS, EVs and / or AVs for our Vehicle Engineering Practice in our Phoenix, AZ;
• Natick, MA; Atlanta, GA; Farmington Hills, MI; Menlo Park, CA; or Los Angeles, CA office. In this role, you will work as part of a team executing consulting projects that involve the analysis and testing of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS);

automated vehicles; electric vehicles; vehicle, engine, and component performance; and safety assessments.

You will be responsible for

• Managing projects from initiation to completion; communicating project updates; ensuring deadlines are met; and identifying business development opportunities.
• Developing and managing client relationships.
• Project and cost management on casework.
• Setting up and executing various test programs, including full-scale vehicle tests.
• Continuing to develop specialized expertise in the automotive field.
• Managing, mentoring, and providing project work for junior consulting staff.
• Developing and growing the Vehicle Engineering Practice.

You will have the following skills and qualifications

• Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in ADAS, electric vehicles (EVs), automated vehicles (AVs), and / or vehicle and automotive system design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Ability to generate business and manage client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Field and / or lab measurement experience with good hands-on skills.
• Versatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required.

Work Environment

At Exponent, we have found that in-person interactions deepen employee engagement and are crucial for development. Our consultants engage in-person in the office unless they are traveling for client work.

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions. At the Manager level and above, total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

Salary Range

USD $135,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 / Yr.
