APP- Certified RegisteredNurse Anesthetist- Part Time
JOBPURPOSE : As a member of the team, a CRNA is an advanced practiceregistered nurse (APRN) who practices under the medical directionof anesthesiologists to deliver high-quality, patient centered,evidence-based anesthesia services.
The CRNA cares for patients atall acuity levels in a variety of settings including but notlimited to surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic and therapeuticprocedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Clinicalresponsibilities of the CRNA will be delegated by ananesthesiologist. Care is directed by an anesthesiologist whoshares responsibility for the patient.
With the direction of theanesthesiologist the CRNA will :
Contribute tothe preoperative collection and documentation of patientdata
Review, request, and order (as permitted by statelaw), laboratory / diagnostic studies
Obtain, order, andadminister pre-anesthetic medication or treatment
Developand implement an anesthesia care plan
Obtain, prepare,and use equipment, invasive and non-invasive monitors supplies, anddrugs for the administration of sedation and anesthesia;
performsafety checks as needed
Select, order, obtain, andadminister analgesic and anesthetic agents, adjuvant drugs,accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products necessary to provideanesthesia services
Perform all aspects of airwaymanagement
Facilitate emergence and recovery fromanesthesia by evaluating patient response, and selecting, ordering,and administering medications, fluids, and ventilator support tomaintain patient stability during transfer
Initiate andadminister post-anesthesia pharmacological or fluid support of thecardiovascular system Initiate and administer respiratory supportto ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation in thepost-anesthesia period
Evaluate the patients response toanesthesia and surgery; take appropriate corrective action duringthe post-anesthesia period
Place and manage regionalanesthetic techniques, as delineated by his or her clinicalprivileges or granted specialprivileges
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,ABILITIES
Ability to perform clinically as part of ananesthesia care team
Ability to operate, use, andinterpret data from a wide variety of equipment to performanesthesia care as well as necessary perioperative or operatingroom care to support the safety and well-being of the patient whilethey are under the direct care of the CRNA
Effectiveverbal and written communication skills are required to collaboratewith various clinical staff and other disciplines
Abilityto demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide careappropriate to the patient population(s) served
Abilityto demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth anddevelopment over the life span and ability to assess datareflective of the patients requirements relative to his or herpopulation-specific and age specific needs
Knowledge ofinfection prevention and control techniques
Ability tomaintain confidential records
Ability to implement andadhere to facility policies and procedure
Facilitate thetimely delivery of care and efficient function of theOR

Qualifications :
MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED :
BA / BS in Nursing with RN Licensure inGeorgia and Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational programaccredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse AnesthesiaEducational Programs or its predecessor
MINIMUMEXPERIENCE REQUIRED : One (1) year of previous work experience inhospital setting, clinical quality, or performanceimprovement.
MINIMUM LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED BY LAW : Georgia Licensure as CRNA Certified by NationalCommission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assts(NCCAA) BLSCertification required
