THE JOB :
The Pool Manager is focused on enhancing the guest experience by overseeing the daily operations of our pool facilities, ensuring we meet the high standards expected of a Forbes Five-Star hotel.
This role involves managing all aspects of pool operations while adhering to departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
You will play a vital role in our mission to own the guest's experience and create WOW memories that they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.
THE DAY-TO-DAY :
- Supervise Staff : Ensure team members are attentive to their duties and comply with company policies regarding guest safety and welfare
- Operations Management : Maintain smooth, cost-effective operations, including labor management, service supervision, and inventory control
- Staffing Efficiency : Manage department staffing to minimize expenses while exceeding budget objectives
- VIP Requests : Ensure the department effectively handles requests from VIP Services and Executives
- Event Coordination : Oversee successful setup and teardown for pool events, including :
- Coordinating with outside vendors and Banquets for staffing and uniforms
- Managing pool staff for chair setup and removal
- Overseeing check-in processes and badge issuance
- Handling the BPO process and distribution of sign-in sheets for external companies
- Managing pool deck rentals for events
- Issue Monitoring : Document and report any issues to the Director of Pool Operations that may affect departmental goals
- Opening / Closing Duties : Manage the opening and closing of the pool area, ensuring a pristine appearance throughout shifts
- Reservation System : Assist the Director with the Opera reservation system implementation and management
- Website Updates : Oversee daily website updates and coordinate with management for night-end reports
- Revenue Strategy : Collaborate with Enterprise Analytics to set cabana and chair rates to maximize revenue
- Maintenance Coordination : Organize maintenance and repairs for pool deck and facilities
- Strategic Input : Contribute ideas for revenue growth and cost containment to exceed budget goals and maximize EBITDA
- Guest Service Standards : Manage service quality, address guest complaints promptly, and ensure satisfaction in line with Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond standards
- Guest Experience Enhancement : Provide insights on improving guest experiences to maintain high ratings
- Cross-Department Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to ensure a positive guest experience
- System Improvements : Identify and correct issues that hinder excellence in service
- Human Resources Management : Oversee HR responsibilities, fostering a service-oriented and teamwork-focused environment.
Ensure quality hiring, training, and succession planning that aligns with the company's diversity commitment
- Team Development : Responsible for team member development, including hiring, coaching, promotions, and performance evaluations
- Safety Programs : Maintain pool safety programs and training to ensure guest safety and compliance with health regulations, including monthly in-service training for lifeguards
- Mentorship : Develop supervisory staff in leadership, consistency, training, and departmental standards
- Positive Work Environment : Promote a workplace culture that values positivity, teamwork, and employee satisfaction
WHAT YOU'LL NEED :
- Two (2) years of prior leadership experience specific to Food & Beverage
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Food Handler's, Alcohol Awareness, and Non-Gaming card
- Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE :
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Management experience at a Five Diamond or Five Start Property
- Finance and / or analytics experience
- Prior experience in Beverage and / or Quick Service
- Prior experience in a luxury pool, recreation, or spa environment
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
