Summary
Do you love cooking for people but are sick of the hustle / bustle of the restaurant life and working weekends and holidays?
I may have the perfect position for you!
We are a busy and growing early learning center and are looking for a chef to create a pescatarian menu (no shellfish) for the children using seasonal produce and healthy ingredients.
Our center provides breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. This person will also be responsible for maintaining sanitary kitchen standards, keeping an accurate inventory, ordering food and washing dishes.
In the coming months, we will be renovating our current kitchen into a commercial kitchen to accommodate our growing school.
Ideally, the chef would be a part of the process of setting the new kitchen up and suggesting necessary supplies.
Duties
- Menu creation
- Cooking
- Keeping an inventory of food and supplies
- Ordering food for center
- Sanitizing dishes
Requirements
- Must have professional kitchen / cooking experience.
- Be able to pass a DCYF portable background test
- Provide proof of MMR vaccine, titer showing antibodies, or medical exemption
- Have had a TB test in the past 3 years or able to obtain a negative TB test before starting work
- Must be patient and kind to children
