A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated high academic achievement, substantial experience in a law firm or clerkship role, and exceptional problem-solving, writing, and communication skills.
This role requires significant experience in financial services litigation, including matters related to commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
Experience in taking and defending depositions and active courtroom participation is also essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex financial services litigation, focusing on commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
- Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Appear in court to argue motions, present evidence, and conduct trial proceedings.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes, such as mediation and arbitration.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant litigation experience or significant clerkship experience, with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
- Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and managing courtroom proceedings.
- Strong academic credentials and proven problem-solving and communication skills.
