This role offers a unique opportunity to join our growing team and make a significant impact by improving public safety and operational efficiency within state and local government entities.

In this role, you will be responsible for proactively driving sales of Axis' comprehensive suite of solutions across the state and local government sector in an assigned geographic territory within the Midwest.

Your work will directly impact the safety, communication, and operational capabilities of public institutions, including government buildings, municipalities, and other critical infrastructure.

You will create and implement strategic business plans, actively seek out new business opportunities, support existing government partners (end users, integrators, A&Es, distribution partners), and ensure the success of sales initiatives.

Your primary goal will be to generate new revenue by building awareness and demand for Axis' solutions in the state and local government space.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution :

  • Develop and execute a regional business plan tailored to the state and local government sector, with a strong emphasis on new business development, to achieve and exceed sales and margin targets.
  • Build concise and focused strategies, plans, and goals for key government target groups, aligning with Axis' go-to-market strategy while collaborating closely with other regional sales managers.
  • Provide monthly reporting to management on strategic initiatives, progress, and opportunities, with a focus on new business acquisitions.

Sales and Development :

  • Actively prospect and pursue new business opportunities within the state and local government sector, targeting public buildings, municipalities, and other government entities.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with government customers and partners to support sales, drive opportunities, and provide feedback to enhance Axis' solutions in this sector.
  • Identify and cultivate key integration partners and A&E specifiers to drive the adoption of Axis' solutions within government environments.
  • Consistently exceed monthly and annual quotas by focusing on high-impact opportunities and proactive business development.

Customer and Partner Support :

  • Work with cross-functional teams to reduce or remove barriers in developing business within state and local governments, with a focus on accelerating time-to-market for new opportunities.
  • Serve as an internal resource and subject matter expert, supporting sales and marketing initiatives, educational services, demos, and competitive intelligence within the Midwest Business Area, with a focus on state and local government.
  • Using CRM tools, provide accurate forecasts and reports on activities and pipelines, tracking new business growth.

  • Expert knowledge of the state and local government sector, with an understanding of products and future trends in security, surveillance, and communication solutions for public institutions.
  • Strong project management skills focused on attention to detail and a relentless drive to close new business.
  • Proven ability to build strategic and trusted relationships at all levels, internally and externally, particularly within government entities.
  • Technical aptitude with experience as a subject matter expert in positioning and winning new business in the government sector.
  • Strong relationships within government, security, and IT professional groups or associations.
  • Exceptional communication, public speaking, presentation, training, and listening skills, with an ability to connect with stakeholders in government environments.
  • Self-motivated team player with a strategic vision and the ability to build extensive plans focused on rapid new business acquisition.
  • Consistency in follow-up and execution, with a focus on closing new business.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent electronic trade training.
  • 3-5+ years in a sales-driven position, preferably within the government sector.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Strong technical background to effectively run demonstrations of Axis solutions tailored for government environments.
  • Must reside in Chicago, IL.

Target Salary

The approximate pay range for this location and position is $115,000-130,000 annually On Target Earnings / Total Target Compensation .

Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
