Job Description :
Working with business leaders and acts as a liaison between IT and business units (typically leadership for assigned business units) or vendors.
Viewed as integral to the business in any decisions that may be impacted by technology.
- Acting as a business relationship manager responsible for collecting, analyzing, reviewing, documenting, and communicating business needs and requirements to the IT organization.
- Leading the gathering of business needs as well as the design of solutions through direct interaction with business unit leaders.
- Focusing on developing and improving business processes at all times, assisting with the development of metrics, both within the technology and business organizations.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers, and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and technology.
- Identifying, proposing, and influencing business solutions, negotiating deliverables and requirements across multiple business customers or organizations.
- Ensuring that the design and integration of proposed system, software and hardware solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.
- Facilitating the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and information technology.
- Actively resolving day-to-day technology needs of the business unit with a focus on the analysis of processes dissecting problems and suggesting solutions.
- Understanding technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment.
- Suggesting plans to integrate new and existing processes.
- Providing input and supporting planning and prioritization for business process engineering related activities, including developing the business unit process engineering plan and integrating that plan with the corporate plan.
- Possessing knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements.
- Participating in continuous review and update to ensure that processes meet changing business unit conditions.
- Identifying processes for improvement, documents existing processes, identifies and analyzes gaps between current processes and the desired state.
- Designing new processes, developing process performance measures, and planning the transition to a new process.
- Providing counsel and leadership on future use of technology and business process improvements.
- Assisting with conducting data analysis within each business process.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or other related field / equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of five () years of experience in documenting requirements / traceability using a holistic requirements management tool.
- A minimum of five () years of system documentation experience.
- A minimum of five () years of experience in process engineering and two () years of experience in project management or similar role.
- Strong understanding of the problem space from the business perspective.
- Proven computer skills in Microsoft (MS) suite - Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Visio.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to lead, direct, and manage.
- Strong written, verbal, and analytical communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Strong analysis and documentation skills for creating end-to-end business scenarios for the development of test cases and execution.
- Strong analytical and industry relevant product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements.
- Strong knowledge of web applications, client server applications, legacy applications, and database concepts.
- Strong project management skills including conceptualization, analysis, driving Alignment, planning resources, and managing milestones.
- Agile / SCRUM experience specifically in story / acceptance criteria development.
- Knowledge of the interdependencies of key business processes, functions, and risks.
- Ability to quickly course correct, re-prioritize, and elicit new information based on what was learned from customer feedback.
- Experience with TFS to plan and organize tasks, workflows, and reports for the Agile Team members.
- Experience with data analysis and / or data engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of the business domain, processes, and flow of the projects they are working on.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the business requirements.
- Experience in an expert / lead technical role.
- Worked on large, complex projects that have enterprise-wide impact and require subject matter expertise of multiple process improvement areas and mastery of process improvement tools.
- Worked as a project team member on multiple projects to facilitate process improvements involving multiple sites or business areas, often as a project leader.
- Coached and mentored junior staff.
