Summary

DWC seeks a full time Senior Mental Health Clinician to supervise a team of field-based case managers, and to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health support to unaccompanied women and women with children who are experiencing homelessness.

The Senior Mental Health Clinician will model crisis intervention skills, help create safety plans for participants in crisis, and provide clinical consultation to staff.

An ideal candidate will lead, inspire, and motivate a team of case managers, while also carrying a caseload of therapy clients.

This position is a member of the Clinical Department and will report directly to the Director of DV Housing. Essential Functions Provide trauma-informed therapeutic services to participants Supervise a team of Case Managers, direct service staff, and clinical interns as needed Provide mental health services, including individual and / or group therapy Provide crisis intervention and support participants with creating safety plans Assist staff with clinical consultation, care coordination and coaching around clinical interventions and de-escalation techniques as needed.

Review case manager notes and chart documentation Review and approve requests for financial assistance Participate in quality assurance and audit preparation as needed Provide individual and group supervision to direct service staff Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations around confidentiality.

Provide services in a manner consistent with the DWC mission and serve as an ambassador do DWC in the community. Maintain accurate and timely records, including mental health notes, and documentation of services provided to each client.

Provide regular, written reports to the Clinical Program Manager and additional reports as assigned. Participate in meetings and trainings at DWC and in the community Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time exempt position.

Days and hours of work are Monday- Friday 8 : 30 AM- 5 : 00 PM. Travel Regular travel throughout Los Angeles County is required in this position.

Remote Option for hybrid work schedule, but with expectation to be able to work onsite full time when needed. Required Education and Experience Master’s Degree in social work or related field with current BBS registration in the State of California required (AMFT, ACSW, PCCI);

LCSW preferred Staff supervision experience preferred Experience working in community mental health preferred Experience providing trauma informed care preferred Crisis intervention experience, and familiarity and comfort working with issues related to homelessness, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and history of trauma preferred Training in EBPs (i.

e. Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Trauma Informed Care) preferred. Required Knowledge / Skills / Position Qualifications Excellent active listening and crisis intervention skills with ability to exercise and model good judgment.

Strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, including proficiency in balancing direct service responsibilities and record-keeping.

Able to solve problems by being resourceful and using creativity. Ability to be flexible with hours when needed. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent active listening and crisis intervention skills with ability to exercise and model good judgment. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;

proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences. Oral and written fluency in English required; Spanish a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

Current valid California state driver’s license, insurance, and vehicle with good driving record Must be a CA resident and live no more than 75 miles from DWC;

must be available for in-person meetings at DWC. Must provide documentation of a negative TB test result within the last twelve months, on first day of hire.

You will be required to be up to date on your vaccinations against COVID-19 and provide documentation. If you are fully vaccinated and not yet eligible to receive a booster dose, then you must receive the booster dose within 30 days of becoming eligible and eligibility begins 5 months after receiving final primary dose.

If you are fully vaccinated and have received a booster dose, you are considered up to date with your vaccinations. Unvaccinated individuals must receive their 1st dose before their first day of hire.

Partially vaccinated (for 2-dose series) individuals must receive their 2nd dose within 30 days of being hired. The second dose of a two-dose vaccine series is due 4 weeks after the primary dose.
